Personal Profile

Li He, ancestral home in Shanxi Province's Lingqiu County, born in the Bashang region of Zhangjiakou, Hebei, currently resides in Wuhan, known as Sai Bei Cunye.

Served for 16 years in the original 23rd Group Army of the Shenyang Military Region, engaged in military film projection work; formerly a creative member of the Fine Arts and Calligraphy Research Institute of the former General Armament Department of the PLA, and an editor for Calligraphy News · Art and Calligraphy World. Member of the China Calligraphers Association, Member of the China Couplets Society, member of Hongtang Calligraphy Society, Member of the Hubei Writers Association, Member of the Hubei Film Artists Association; currently employed at the Calligraphy News Press. Studied Zhangcao calligraphy under military calligrapher Ni Jinxian, later studied Han clerical script under Master He Changgui, and received instruction from Master Ge Changyong.

During his 16-year military service, participated in the 1998 flood relief efforts, and organized major exhibitions including the Centennial Anniversary Exhibition of Qian Xuesen’s Birth and the National Art Exhibition Commemorating the 85th Anniversary of the PLA’s Founding and the 12th PLA Art Exhibition. His works were exhibited in exhibitions jointly hosted by the Political Department of the PLA and the China Calligraphers Association, such as the Fifth PLA Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition and the Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition Commemorating the 120th Anniversary of Mao Zedong’s Birth.

Former executive editor of the “Hubei Calligraphy” column in Calligraphy News. Enjoys calligraphy and excels in essays; his works have appeared in professional publications such as Calligraphy News, Art News, Calligraphy Guide, China Painting and Calligraphy News, Youth Calligraphy News, PLA Life, and PLA Fine Arts and Calligraphy. The PLA Daily and Soldier Daily have reported on his calligraphy achievements.
