Wang Jingnan, Han ethnicity, courtesy name Dizhi, pseudonyms Jieweng and Tao Hao, was born in 1926 in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
Since 2009, he has won 16 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals in national competitions including the Beijing Invitational Exhibition for Middle-aged and Elderly Calligraphy and Painting, the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition Commemorating the 105th Anniversary of Deng Xiaoping’s Birth, the National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting 60-Year Anthology, and the Second National Calligraphy and Painting Competition Commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the Publication of Mao Zedong’s “Qinyuanchun · Snow”. He has also been honored with titles such as “China’s Master Calligrapher and Painter,” “Outstanding Calligrapher and Painter of the People’s Republic,” “Contemporary Chinese Meritorious Artist,” and “Red Artist Deeply Loved by the Masses.”
Mr. Wang Jingnan possesses profound calligraphic skills and is proficient in all five scripts. His running script is elegant and free-spirited, while his large-character white-line calligraphy is vigorous and majestic. Particularly admirable is that his patriotism remains as fervent as ever, and he continues to use his powerful brush to transmit positive energy to the great Chinese Dream era.
