Yang Xiaoqiang, male, pen name Yang Xiaoshi, style name Dongkun, art name Master of Wenyi Studio, native of Jiudaohe, Master of Shigu Tang, native of Changyang, etc.Born in 1958, Han ethnicity,ancestral home in Yidu, great-great-grandson of Yang Shoujing. Senior Artisan, graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts.  
Currently a specially appointed painter of the National Academy of Ethnic Painting, Director of Hengyang Danqing Painting Academy in Beijing, part-time professor at China Three Gorges University, professor at the Tibet Autonomous Region Calligraphy Art Training Center, director of Hainan Hongren Painting Gallery, member of the China Calligraphers Association, member of the Chinese Poetry Society, member of the China Couplet Society, member of the Hubei Artists Association, consultant of the Yichang Calligraphers Association, vice president of the Yichang Yang Shoujing Calligraphy Academy, honorary president of the Qingjiang Painting Academy.

His works have been exhibited in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and other countries, and he has personally created calligraphy works for Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Sang Guowei and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chief Executive of Macao, He Luhua.
 
His achievements in painting and calligraphy have been featured in Xinhua News Agency, China Art Daily, Contemporary Television, CCTV's Art Channel, Hubei Daily, Yangtze River Daily, Fine Arts Weekly, Calligraphy Weekly, Sanxia Daily, Sanxia Evening News, Yichang Culture, Yichang TV, as well as on China National Committee of the CPPCC website, Xinhuanet, CCTV.com, China Ethnic Network, Sina, NetEase, Sohu, Phoenix, Artron, and nearly a hundred other new media platforms.
 
In 1997, a ten-minute documentary produced by CCTV and the State Council Information Office was broadcast on over a dozen overseas media outlets including European Satellite TV, American Panda TV, Rainbow TV, and CCTV.
