 Liu Wanzhu, a Tibetan male, is a poet and calligrapher. His Tibetan name is Huaruilongben, and he calls himself Xitian Jushi. Born in 1963 in Tianzhu County, Gansu, he currently resides at Xiguan Street, Xining City, Qinghai Province. In 1980, he was admitted to Northwest Nationalities University, majoring in Tibetan and Chinese languages. After graduating from Northwest Nationalities University in 1984, he enrolled in Unit One of the Xi'an Army College for university students, and upon graduation, participated in combat operations against Vietnam in the Laoshan region of Yunnan, where he was awarded the Third-Class Merit. From 1996 to 1999, he studied joint operational command at the Frunze Military Academy in Russia. He has held various positions including platoon leader, company commander, staff officer for training and operations at division and regiment levels, deputy head of the division’s training battalion, deputy head of the division’s training and operations department, deputy commander of the 46th Armored Regiment, chief of staff of the Reserve Infantry Brigade, and deputy commander of the Guoluo Military District in Qinghai. In 2005, he participated in the first China-Russia "Peace Mission" joint military exercise and was awarded the Second-Class Merit. In 2013, he transferred to the Qinghai Provincial Higher People's Court as Deputy Inspector. Ouyang Zhongshi commented on his calligraphy: "His art conceals profound wisdom within subtlety; he does not follow others’ conventions but employs the artistic technique of 'knowing the autumn from one falling leaf,' enabling readers to perceive vastness through small details, find elegance in simplicity, and allow their thoughts to soar with his brushstrokes, evoking rich associations." The Chairman of the China Calligraphers Association evaluated: "Every piece by Liu Wanzhu reflects his unique style; one can discern the brush rhythms of historical masters in his work, yet these influences have naturally coalesced into a distinct new calligraphic style."
