Personal Profile
Zou Yu, born in 1984 in Sichuan Chengdu, grew up in poverty and spent his childhood on the back of a buffalo. The harmonious integration of mountains, rivers, and nature in the region was deeply imprinted in his mind, inspiring a profound emotional connection with Chinese characters. At the age of ten, he began practicing calligraphy. As the ancients said: "Ice three feet thick does not form overnight." Since then, he has persistently practiced through all seasons, day and night, initially studying Yan Ti style, later delving into running and cursive scripts. Fortuitously, he received guidance from the renowned calligrapher Mr. Yang Dejin, whose meticulous instruction greatly benefited him. He pursued the methods of ancient masters Yan, Liu, Ouyang, and Zhao, diligently studying and emphasizing the combination of imitation and integration. By learning the calligraphic art of generations of masters, he developed his own grand and distinctive calligraphic style—his characters exude powerful, vigorous, and profound brushwork, uniquely distinctive. With his unique brush technique, he continuously creates masterpieces, each offering viewers a delightful aesthetic experience, and his works are increasingly collected by people from all walks of life.
