Personal Profile
Yuan Zi, also known as Shengping, self-styled Ban Sheng, was born in Jiangxi Xinfeng and later relocated to Jiangsu Taixing, with over twenty years of experience in fine art and design.
Since childhood, he has been passionate about painting. He initially graduated from the Hebei School of Arts and Crafts, laying a solid foundation in painting, and later furthered his studies at Zhengzhou University’s College of Fine Arts, studying under renowned masters such as Li Shufen (flower-and-bird painter), Xu Guoren (color-ink painter), and Cao Mingde (master of bold ink wash painting), among others. Many of his pyrography artworks have been collected by various institutions and individuals.
In 2015, he studied in the Peony Advanced Research Class at China Calligraphy and Painting University, specializing in the bold ink wash peony style of Master Wang Ziwu. He is currently an Art Researcher at the China International Center for Calligraphy and Painting, a Council Member of the Taizhou City Flower-and-Bird Painting Research Association, a Council Member of the Taizhou City Peony Painting Research Association, a Member of the Taizhou City Artists Association, a Member of the Taixing New Social Strata Federation, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Taixing Artists Association.
