Personal Profile
Yuan Zi, also known as Shengping, styles himself Ban Sheng. Born in Jiangxi Xinfeng, later relocating to Jiangsu Taixing, he has worked for over twenty years in fine art and design.
He has been passionate about painting since childhood and graduated early from the Hebei School of Arts and Crafts, laying a solid foundation in painting. He furthered his studies at Zhengzhou University’s College of Fine Arts, studying under renowned masters such as flower-and-bird painter Li Shufen, color-in-ink painter Xu Guoren, and large-brush ink painter Master Cao Mingde. Many of his烙 (烙) painting works have been collected by various sectors.
In 2015, he studied in the Peony Advanced Research Class at China Calligraphy and Painting University, specializing in the large-brush ink peony style of Master Wang Ziwu. He is currently an Art Researcher at the China International Calligraphy and Painting Research Center, a Council Member of the Taizhou City Flower-and-Bird Painting Research Association, a Council Member of the Taizhou City Peony Painting Research Association, a Member of the Taizhou City Artists Association, a Member of the Taixing New Social Strata Association, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Taixing Artists Association.
