Personal Profile
Yu Jinyu, courtesy name Zizhu, studio name Moyuxuan. Born in January 1963 in Jingdezhen, ancestral home Jiangxi Duchang, university educated. Currently a member of the Chinese Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, visiting professor at the Beijing Huaxia Lanting Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, deputy secretary-general of the Organizing Committee of "Chinese Dream · Cultural China Ten Thousand Li Journey." Member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Federation of Literary and Art Circles Calligraphy Association, member of the China Calligraphy and Painting Society, member of the China Ceramic Art and Culture Development Center, member of the Jiangxi Province Arts and Crafts Society, standing director and academician of the Jiangxi Provincial Defense Culture Ceramic Art and Painting Academy, vice president and academician of the Zhushan Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Jingdezhen, senior ceramic calligraphy and painting artist. Has loved calligraphy since childhood, diligent and eager to learn; won first prize in his school's calligraphy and painting competition during middle school, and second prize in the city-wide calligraphy and painting performance competition for primary and secondary school students (judged by Bi Yuanming and Hu Xianya). For decades, he has persistently practiced without pause, striving forward. In recent years, under the guidance of renowned masters, he has meticulously studied calligraphy models from all dynasties, integrating and absorbing their essence to develop his own unique style, specializing in large-character calligraphy, and also excelling in running, cursive, clerical, and seal scripts.
