Personal Profile

Li Hongxia, female, Han ethnicity, born in 1960, ancestral home in Heilongjiang, with a junior college degree. She attended primary and secondary school in the compound of China Railway Third Bureau. Originally employed at China Railway Third Bureau's Line and Bridge Company as an archivist, with a junior college degree and a member of the Communist Party of China. She has retired and is now a resident of Yanjiao, Sanhe City, Hebei Province. Since childhood, she has loved to accompany herself with brush, ink, and colors. Over the years, she has consistently used her free time to read painting books and copy masterworks to enhance her painting skills. While studying at the Shaanxi Xianyang Cadre Management College, her painting "Sketch of Flowers" won the second prize in the college's 1985 National Day Painting and Calligraphy Competition. Her figure sketch "Dance" received the third prize in the Xianyang City Painting and Calligraphy Competition. After beginning work, she won the first prize in her unit's 1988 Ballpoint Pen Calligraphy Competition. Her ink painting "Green Homeland" won the second prize in the Shangqiu City Employees' Spring Festival Painting Competition in 1989.

Since childhood, she has loved painting, but due to work obligations, she never had the time or opportunity for systematic study. She only learned figure sketching through self-study during her spare time and copied works by renowned masters. During her studies at the Shaanxi Xianyang Cadre Management College, she won second and third prizes in painting competitions. While working at her former unit, she frequently participated in unit-organized painting contests and received several awards. It was not until her retirement in 2013 that she formally began studying painting at the Yanjiao Senior University, where she started learning flower-and-bird painting. In 2018, she formally became a disciple under Master Liu Jinming, a renowned Chinese national gift artist, and received more systematic instruction. Under Master Liu Jinming's tireless teaching and guidance, her passion for painting grew uncontrollably. Painting has since become my greatest pursuit in life. I am now a member of the China Enterprise Art Association Painting and Calligraphy Academy. In the years ahead, I wish to use my brush to depict the magnificent landscapes of our great motherland, and to express my gratitude to my country and my teacher.
