Zeng Xianling: Pen name Bu Yu Gongzi, born in 1983 in Yangshuo, Guilin, Guangxi.
Xianling has loved painting since childhood and is deeply passionate about traditional Chinese painting, specializing in meticulous and freehand bird-and-flower works. In 2006, she studied meticulous painting under Master Li Yebō at Chongqing Normal University. In 2016, she became Vice President of the Guilin Yuyin Calligraphy and Painting Academy. In 2018, she studied freehand bird-and-flower painting under the renowned artist Deng Yucheng, excelling in plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo, chrysanthemums, Zen-inspired lotus flowers, ancient costume figures, feline animals, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and insects. Her works are fresh, elegant, and naturally spontaneous, integrating traditional techniques with innovative Western influences. In 2019, she received the First Prize for Honor from the Guilin China-Alliance Calligraphy and Painting Association and was appointed to its editorial board. In 2021, her work won the Gold Medal at the China-Alliance Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China. Her paintings are emotionally rich, aesthetically refined, with solid ink-and-brush techniques and vibrant qi-yun (spiritual resonance). Her style is delicate, colors are vivid, and she pursues perfection—each subject she paints appears lifelike, as if about to leap off the paper. Her works embody profound love, harmony, spiritual expression, and fleeting moments of everyday life, capturing the elegant charm of daily existence. Her artworks have traveled with art enthusiasts into domestic and international art markets, with each square chi now valued at over 5,000 RMB.
