Su Ruyong

 Su Ruyong (born 1985), Han Chinese, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Guangxi Normal University, member of the Guangxi Artists Association and Guilin Artists Association. He has been painting since childhood. His works are fresh and elegant, with open compositions, light and refined coloration, and a brush technique that blends meticulous detail with freehand expression, conveying a sense of simplicity and serenity.

Mr. Su Ruyong specializes in landscape painting and freehand floral subjects, with a particular fondness for painting plum blossoms. He diligently studies the outstanding traditions of Chinese painting and calligraphy, immerses himself in life, integrates reality, and incorporates numerous expressive techniques from Western art, thereby developing a distinctive, vivid, uplifting, and widely appealing personal style. His brushwork is nourished by the genuine mountain ravines; the ethereal waters of the Li River have enriched his ink and color, giving rise to an ethereal artistic atmosphere. Obsessed with the scenery of the mountains, he often sleeps under the open sky, among forests and fields, sustains himself with wild fruits, and quenches his thirst with stream water—these have become routine. It is this passionate devotion to art that once led him to focus on meticulously detailed compositions; however, over time, the freehand elements in his works have become increasingly prominent. He builds upon a foundation of bold ink and color, employing techniques such as splashed ink and splashed color, as well as layered brushstrokes, thereby infusing his works with a rich interplay of water, ink, and pigment. This rhythmic harmony reflects the vitality of his inner being in resonance with the landscape, and embodies his personal emotions materialized through nature. His works have been exhibited in numerous national touring art exhibitions and are held in private collections. They have been sold internationally to the United States, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and other regions, receiving high acclaim, with some pieces collected by renowned figures, collectors, and entrepreneurs both at home and abroad. His works have frequently participated in major national exhibitions and won awards, establishing him as a promising young artist with substantial potential.
