Feng Jianfeng
Personal Profile
Feng Jianfeng was born in Foshan, Guangdong in 1963. He is a professional Chinese painting artist. In his early years, he followed Mr. Zhong Zhensheng, a descendant of the Lingnan school of painting in Foshan. Based on the inheritance of the Lingnan school, he independently established the "heavy color and boneless" technique. He likes to paint flowers, birds, landscapes, and animals. Especially skilled in painting fish, his fish are lively, bright, and lifelike. His works are spread all over the world and are highly pursued by collectors.
In the history of traditional Chinese painting, there have also been boneless painting schools, which once shocked the world, but soon disappeared. The boneless flower paintings of the famous calligrapher and painter Yun Nantian in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties only lasted for three hundred years in history. Chinese painting has always emphasized brushwork, so traditionally, paintings that abandoned line drawing were looked down upon. Therefore, boneless painting has remained neglected or even abandoned. The abandonment of the boneless technique means that Chinese painting has lost half of its field, which is truly regrettable!
Feng Jianfeng's "heavy color and boneless" technique: "heavy rendering, pursuing color richness". It emphasizes the use of brush and ink, pursues artistic conception, and takes color as ink. It expands the aesthetic requirements of the picture and the purity changes of color temperature. It has a majestic spirit and exquisite brushwork! It reaches a new height of visual art appreciation. Although the number of painters who currently adopt this new style of painting is not large, Chinese painting will surely welcome a brand-new creative environment and aesthetic standards with the continuous arrival of the spring breeze of cultural and artistic reform. Since the heavy color boneless painting is part of Chinese painting, and it has the favorable conditions of the integration of Chinese and Western painting, it should be developed and supported! It should also occupy a place in the field of Chinese painting!
