Jia Shaochang
Jia Shaochang, style name Shuangyang, pseudonym: Shifeng Xiuyuan Master, Lacquer Color Hall Master.
Born in 1972 in Guantao County, Handan City, Hebei Province.
In 1988, he studied lacquer art under Professor Qiao Shiguang from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts.
In 1989, he served as an assistant in Qiao Shiguang's studio for lacquer paintings.
In 1994, he was appointed Secretary and Designer at the Secretariat of the China Three Gorges Painting Academy (participated in founding the China Three Gorges Painting Academy).
In 1995, he served as Acting Secretary of the Chinese Lacquer Painting Research Association and joined the China Industrial Design Association.
In 1996, CCTV produced a documentary titled "My Life, My Lacquer Painting," directed by Sun Lei.
In 1999, he founded Beijing Yinma Decoration Design Co., Ltd.
In 2002, he was recognized as a representative of the Chinese Society of Traditional Craftsmanship’s Lacquer Art Committee (attended the national lacquer art conference in Yangzhou).
In 2002, his lacquer painting "Passage" was selected for the First National Lacquer Painting Exhibition.
In 2003, he graduated from the first National Lacquer Painting Advanced Training Class organized by the China Artists Association (Xiamen).
In 2003, his lacquer painting "Roots" was selected for the Beijing International Biennale (Beijing).
In 2004, his lacquer painting "Roots" was selected for the 10th National Art Exhibition (Nanjing).
In 2004, he joined the China Zhi Gong Party and the Cultural Working Committee of the Beijing Chapter of the China Zhi Gong Party.
In 2005, his lacquer painting "Harem" was selected for the Xiamen Chinese Lacquer Painting Exhibition (Xiamen).
In 2006, he held a solo exhibition titled "Jia Shaochang Lacquer Painting Exhibition" in the Dasha Zi Art District, Beijing.
In 2006, his lacquer painting was included in the Second Chinese Modern Craft Art Exhibition.
In 2007, he held an exhibition titled "Lacquer Emotion, Passion—Jia Shaochang Contemporary Art Exhibition" in the 798 Art District, Beijing.
In 2007, his work "Harem·Snow" was selected for the Xiamen Chinese Lacquer Painting Exhibition (Xiamen).
In 2008, he participated in the "Origin Reconstruction—Six Contemporary Lacquer Artists Exhibition" in the 798 Art District, Beijing.
In 2009, his lacquer painting "Star Rhythm" was selected for the 11th National Art Exhibition (Xiamen).
In 2009, he held the "Lacquer Language, Heart Voice—Jia Shaochang Art Exhibition" at Ding Museum (Beijing).
In 2010, he joined the China Artists Association.
In 2011, he furthered his studies at the Li Xiaoke Ink Painting Studio at the Beijing Academy of Painting.
In 2012, he participated in the Olympic Art Exhibition in London, with his work collected (London).
In 2012, he held the "Lacquer Marks—Jia Shaochang Works Exhibition" at Anshan Hall, Prince Gong’s Mansion in Beijing.
In 2013, four lacquer paintings were exhibited during the opening ceremony of the Weizheng Museum and collected (Hebei).
In 2014, his works were exhibited in the public welfare art exhibition sponsored by the Soong Ching Ling Foundation and collected (Beijing).
In 2015, his works were exhibited in the Chinese (Xiamen) Lacquer Painting Exhibition (Xiamen).
In 2016, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the World One Paint Open Heaven Culture and Art Association.
In 2017, he was appointed Director of the Lacquer Art Committee of the Contemporary Artists Research Association of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Folk Art and Cultural Products Trade Association.
In 2017, he joined the China Arts and Culture Development Promotion Association under the Ministry of Culture.
In 2018, he was appointed as an expert in lacquer art for the intangible cultural heritage project at Beijing No. 80 High School.
In 2018, he was appointed Professor in the Department of Applied Arts at Beijing City University.
In 2018, he held the "Lacquer Song, Ink Dance" touring exhibition at the Qinhuangdao Zhen She Art Museum (Hebei Station).
In 2018, his color ink paintings were successfully auctioned (China Art & Calligraphy).
In 2019, the Palace Museum in Beijing hosted the "Lacquer Song, Ink Dance" touring exhibition at the Huashi Redwood Museum.
In 2020, his color ink painting "Great Love Without Borders" was auctioned and donated to frontline workers combating the Wuhan epidemic.
In 2020, Baidu Encyclopedia filmed video and audio updates.
In 2020, three color ink paintings were permanently collected by the Guantao Museum.
In 2020, he became a contracted painter at the Confucius Art Museum.
In 2020, he was appointed Guest Professor at the Danqing Painting Channel of Shandong TV.
In 2020, his color ink painting "Prosperous Times Lotus Grace" was permanently collected by the Great Hall of the People.
