Zhang Jianglian
Zhang Jianglian, female, artist, born in Liaoning, works and resides in Beijing.
Member of the China Artists Association, Member of the Chinese Fine Arts Society, Visiting Scholar at the New York Academy of Art, Honorary Doctorate from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, Mentor of the Advanced Research Class on Chinese Painting at Tsinghua University, Guest Professor at Northeastern University, Guest Professor at Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, National First-Class Artist, Council Member of the China Painting Art Research Association under the Ministry of Culture, Council Member of the Asian Art Alliance, Council Member of the China International Art Exchange Promotion Association, Signed Artist of the CCTV Painting and Calligraphy Channel, Special Appointed Artist of Rongbaozhai Academy of Painting, Special Appointed Artist of Beijing Shi Qi Academy of Painting, Artist at the Hudson Art Center in New York, USA, Director of Xinjing Art Museum.
Founder of Xinjing Chinese Painting. Her works integrate East and West, inherit and innovate, emphasize individuality, and focus on contemporary expression.
Artistic education includes studies at the China National Academy of Painting, Beijing Academy of Painting, and Peking University, specializing in Chinese painting. She was mentored by Shi Qi, Yuan Wu, and Hu Mingzhe.
She graduated successively from the Art Secondary School’s Fine Arts Department, the Sculpture Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, and the Graduate Program of the Oil Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
From 2006 to 2010, she resided at “Sujia Village International Art Camp” in Beijing’s contemporary art community. In the summer of 2010, she established the Zhang Jianglian Art Studio in Songzhuang, Beijing, and has since participated in numerous international group exhibitions with Chinese and global artists across the United States, Germany, Rome, the UK, Italy, France, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other regions. Her works have been selected and awarded over a hundred times in national and international exhibitions, and have been exhibited or collected at the China National Art Museum, provincial art museums, the China National Museum, the 798 Contemporary Art Center, and by renowned international collectors such as Uli Sigg. Publications featuring her work include: Beijing Youth Weekly, Art Overview, Art Focus, Contemporary Chinese Art, and the Large-scale Documentary Commemorative Stamp Album of the New Era.
