Zhang Cui
Zhang Cui, also known as Master of Youxiang Studio, is a female Han Chinese artist born in 1988 in Kaifeng, an ancient capital of eight dynasties. She is a professional painter and calligrapher, having studied under renowned artists such as Qi Huimin and calligrapher and seal carver Zeng Guang. She graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Henan University and later pursued advanced studies at the China Academy of Art. She is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a National First-Class Artist, a member of the Henan Calligraphers Association, a researcher at the China Landscape Painting Research Society, and a researcher at the China Flower-and-Bird Painting Research Society.
Her works have been selected for the 13th National Art Exhibition hosted by the China Artists Association, and between 2014 and 2021, her works were repeatedly selected for exhibitions organized by the China Artists Association, provincial art associations, and provincial calligraphy associations.
Her works have been exhibited in cities including Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, and Guangzhou. Hundreds of her pieces have been collected by various art museums, cultural institutions, art collectors, and prominent figures in the business community. Her works have been featured in special sections in domestic publications such as “Art,” “China Painting and Calligraphy Daily,” “Calligraphy News,” and “Calligraphy Guide,” among dozens of other journals, and have been reported on over a hundred websites. She has published art books including “The Realm Created by the Mind—Selected Works of Zhang Cui” and “Hanmo Zhongyuan: Volume of Zhang Cui.” Her artistic biography has been included in publications such as “Biographical Directory of Contemporary Famous Painters and Calligraphers.”
