      Hu Shufeng, style name Shibó, is from the ancient capital of Luoyang.

       He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphy Society, a member of the Chinese Big-Character Calligraphy Committee, a member of the Henan Provincial Calligraphers Association, a council member of the Central Plains Calligraphers and Painters Association, vice president of the Luoyang Yibo Calligraphy and Painting Institute, a state guest etiquette calligrapher, and a national first-class calligrapher.

Since childhood, Mr. Hu has been deeply influenced by his family’s cultural environment and developed a profound love for calligraphy. He has studied the brushwork and scripts of numerous renowned calligraphers, and decades of diligent practice have endowed him with a solid and comprehensive foundation in traditional techniques. Drawing inspiration from ancient masters’ ink traces, his brushwork flows naturally and smoothly, with meticulously structured characters, clear and vigorous strokes, balanced weight and rhythm, harmonious interplay between primary and secondary elements—his style is dignified and substantial, yet never lacks vitality; elegant and refined, yet accessible to all, displaying distinct personal characteristics and revealing profound mastery of brush technique and strong cultural cultivation.


      Mr. Hu has participated in numerous major domestic and international calligraphy exhibitions and won awards: In 2014, he won the Gold Prize in the Huaxia Cup National Calligraphy Competition; in 2015, he received First Prize in the Great Wall Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, and his work was collected by the organizing committee. Mr. Hu’s calligraphy works have long been collected by multiple museums, art galleries, collectors, and friends both domestically and abroad. 

      Mr. Hu is also passionate about public welfare. In 2016, all proceeds from the auction of his calligraphy and painting works were donated to the Youth Foundation, for which he was awarded the title “Philanthropic Calligrapher.”

      In 2011, his work was presented as a state gift to Masood Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to China.

      In 2013, his work was collected by Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

      In 2015, his work “Family Harmony Brings Prosperity” was auctioned in Beijing Jiali for RMB 150,000.

      In 2017, his work “Horse Achieves Success” was auctioned at Sotheby’s Hong Kong for HKD 180,000.

     In 2019, his work “Harmony Generates Wealth” was auctioned at Singapore’s Sing Chiu International for USD 120,000.     

     In 2021, his work “Shun” was auctioned at Taiwan’s Chung Cheng for TWD 200,000.
