Personal Profile
     Tian Xuezhi, male, born in 1982, native of Cangzhou, Hebei Province, currently resides in Beijing. Born into a family with a profound calligraphy heritage, he began learning calligraphy from his father, the contemporary renowned calligrapher Guanshan (original name Tian Guanchao), since childhood. He specializes in Zhao Mengfu’s running script, while also studying stele inscriptions and model scripts by masters such as Ouyang Xun and Wang Xizhi. Drawing strengths from various schools, he has developed his own distinctive calligraphic style.
     Mr. Tian Xuezhi reveres ancient traditions, adhering to the creative philosophy of “learning from the ancients without being bound by them, innovating without overstepping boundaries.” His calligraphy flows like drifting clouds and running water, exhibiting grandeur and solidity while preserving traditional brush techniques. His works are aesthetically pleasing to both refined and popular tastes, with profound artistic conceptions that offer viewers a sense of beauty. His works have been exhibited multiple times domestically and are collected by art enthusiasts both in China and abroad, receiving high praise.
     Currently, he serves as a National Gift Artist, Vice Chairman of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, National First-Class Calligrapher, and Honorary President of the Beijing Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
