Yan Daoben, Buddhist name Zhao Chan, pen name San Wang, style name Wangzi, pseudonym Yunyan Ke, master of Yiyue Hall. Born in 1966 in Yongchuan Longjing Mountain Area, Chongqing City, he liked to doodle as a child. In the 1980s, he met the famous painter Zhao Bingkui and learned traditional landscape painting and fish painting techniques. He graduated from China's Art and Calligraphy Correspondence University in 1994. He is currently a member of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Arts Research Society, a member of the Chongqing Artists Association, and a member of the Yongchuan Artists Association. For many years, during his studies, he often practiced the bone method of ancient masters, drew on traditional ink painting techniques, integrated the excellence of folk art, and widely accepted various influences. His landscape paintings have an ancient and refined charm, especially his cai fish and bighead carp, which are full of expressive ink interest, calm and natural in appearance, and unique in style among similar works. Therefore, his works reflect the spiritual appearance of fish, with elegant implications and profound meaning, and the artistic techniques that are appreciated by collectors both at home and abroad.
