Personal Profile

Wang Guanbing, born on July 5, 1963, in a common farmer's family, was cultivated by his mother, an education school teacher. He started working in February 1981, and lives in Tianba, Zhongliangshan, JiuLongpo District, Chongqing City. I have loved painting since childhood, and chose to self-study while working. I am especially fond of figure drawing, sketching, watercolor painting, oil painting, and Chinese landscape painting. In 1987, he enrolled in the China Painting and Calligraphy Correspondence University (now China Painting and Calligraphy International University). Under the careful guidance of famous teachers such as Chen Daoxue, Lei Jiutai, and Du Xianqing, he completed his studies in 1989. His work was selected for the Dongfeng Stele Forest Poetry, Calligraphy, and Photography International Competition in 1990. In April 1990, he participated in the China Modern Painting and Calligraphy Competition organized by the China Association for Cultural Exchange with Foreign Countries, the Shaanxi Association for Cultural Exchange with Foreign Countries, the Art Magazine, and the Shaanxi People's Education Press, and his work was selected. After the initial period of reform and opening up, he gave up his love for painting and calligraphy, experienced ups and downs in life, and through Zhou Yongshu (Zhou Zong) entered the insurance industry, serving as a manager at the Shapingba Branch of Chongqing Zhongding Insurance Agency Co., Ltd. I resumed learning Chinese painting in September 2015. In September 2017, I participated in the 7th Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Competition hosted by the China Art Talent Network and was awarded the Excellent Prize. In September 2017, I won the Excellent Prize in the World Art Competition Online Voting Event held by the Kaifeng Sotheby's Cultural and Art Development Center. My work was selected for the "Tianya Ode - 'Welcome Mid-Autumn Festival, Celebrate National Day'" Hundred Masterpieces Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition jointly organized by Tianya Calligraphy and Painting Garden and Hainan Calligraphy and Art Network, and I have won multiple national awards. I have also received strong support from the president of Fengxiang Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Academy, Feng Huizhong, and encouragement from the local street art institute! I have been continuously striving to learn until now!
