Hu Lanli, whose real name is Hu Nanli, was born in Dazu, Chongqing in 1972. She graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the China Academy of Arts. She is a professional painter. She was brought up in a family with artistic heritage; her father Hu Daixun once studied traditional Chinese painting under master artists such as Su Baozhen and Qu Yilin, and he has profound expertise in painting, especially in painting tigers. Influenced by her father since childhood, she has had a strong interest in traditional Chinese painting. After growing up, she received guidance from her father and has long been engaged in traditional Chinese painting creation. She is skilled in painting birds, flowers, tigers, hawks, cats, fish, peonies, etc., and especially has inherited her father's true techniques in painting tigers. Her works are original in conception, vivid and accurate in image, lifelike, with flexible and varied brushwork, full of wit and charm, giving people a pleasant aesthetic experience and leaving them dazzled. She has participated in many important domestic art exhibitions and has received many honors. She actively participates in the "Poverty Alleviation Art Charity Sale Public Welfare" activities and has been commended and affirmed by the Chongqing Couplets Association. She has participated in the "Father-Daughter Art Exhibition" at the Hong Kong Art Center along with her father Hu Daixun. Her works "Five Cats Playing with Peonies" and "Nine Fishes" are included in the "Large Painting Album of One Hundred Painters", "Majestic Power in Cold Snow" was selected for the 90-meter-long traditional Chinese painting scroll celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the army, "King of the Mountains" participated in the "Military-Civilian Integration Expressing True Feelings" art exhibition and was collected by the organizing committee, and she was specially appointed as a researcher by the China General and Minister Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
