He is especially skilled in cursive script, clerical script, and semi-cursive script. The calligraphy works of Qingshan Saren are based on cultivation, not following the trend, adhering to rules, and having profound skills. Viewing his works, one feels a powerful, rough, slow, heavy, and grand atmosphere coming towards them. The calligraphy community evaluates his works as grand in momentum, natural and elegant, stable yet not vulgar, risky yet not strange, rough yet not dry. Mr. Chen is well-known for his large-scale free-style flower and bird paintings, especially excelling in painting roosters, and also excelling in landscapes and figures. His works are grand in scale, with strong brushwork, thick and smooth. He often incorporates the style of seal script, clerical script, and cursive script into his paintings, demonstrating a bold personal style and a strong contemporary feature. He has enhanced the expressive power of brush and ink, especially good at using thick ink and bright colors, creating a strong effect of ink and color colliding and merging, with opening and closing that creates visual tension. He is aware that large-scale free-style flower and bird paintings are bold, and combines the painting composition with the calligraphic styles of Huaisu, Wang Duo, Wu, and Qi. In the seal script and semi-cursive script, both traditional elements and personality can be seen, with a bold and solemn calligraphic style, grand momentum, flexible structure, and powerful brushstrokes. His calligraphy, painting, and seal carving complement each other, forming an overall spirit. His works have been exhibited and awarded in many national calligraphy and painting competitions, and have been included in many reference books such as "Annual Edition of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Figures". They are collected by calligraphy and painting collectors at home and abroad.
