 Wang Mingqin, also known as Yunchou, was born in 1963, in JiuLongpo District of Chongqing City. He began to study painting and calligraphy since middle school, enjoyed reading rare books and ancient texts, and collected famous paintings and calligraphy. He extensively copied the masterpieces of ancient and modern times, and was always delighted with brushwork. He has traveled through famous mountains and rivers, visited scenic spots across the country, and sought guidance from senior artists to learn traditional painting and calligraphy. He has received guidance and instruction from masters, deeply understanding the charm of the brush. After more than thirty years of diligent practice, he has developed a unique style in his painting and calligraphy, which reflects his own understanding and perception of tradition. His works from a serious and composed state to an unrestrained and free style, completely combining ancient techniques with his inner feelings. The essence of the mountains and waters of Bashan and Shu has forged a tenacious character, and through the blending of ink, he has sensed the endless rhythms of natural life. A sincere and unpretentious simple style further enhances his artistic expression, becoming a subjective approach to art.
