Wang Jinseng, style name Gu Shi, was born in Tianjin in 1944. He is currently a national senior calligrapher, an art consultant of the China International Art Network, a consultant of the China Calligraphy and Painting Artists Creation Center, a professional calligrapher of the Beijing Oriental Masters Painting and Calligraphy Academy, a senior researcher of the China Calligraphy, Painting and Seal Research Institute, and a national honor artist. His works have won the highest awards and many honorary titles in domestic and international calligraphy and painting exhibitions and competitions. His works are included in more than 100 professional calligraphy and painting albums or collected by government agencies and cultural departments or engraved on stones. His poems, aphorisms and papers are also included in more than 60 monographs or literary and historical collections.
      In 2005, he received the China National Learning Outstanding Contribution Award; in 2006, he received the First China Cultural Arts Lifetime Achievement Award; in 2007, he received the International Cultural Arts Highest Honor Award and the Olympic Humanistic Arts Outstanding Achievement Award Art Gold Medal; in 2008, he received the China Reform and Opening-up Literature and Art Lifetime Achievement Award and the International Art Creation Achievement Golden Award; his large-scale calligraphy "Chinese People" won the International Excellent Work Award from the World Cultural and Art Research Center, was selected to be engraved on the Beijing Olympic Monument Forest and inscribed on stone; in 2009, he received the first batch of National Honor Awards for Culture and Art from 1949-2009 and the First Chinese Arts and Crafts Highest Award in the Calligraphy and Painting Field; in 2010, he received the Best Achievement Award of the 7th China Cultural Arts Government Award - Wenhua Award by the Ministry of Culture and the China Society for International Cultural Exchange, as well as the First Human Intangible Cultural Heritage Outstanding Achievement Award by the World Science, Education and Culture Organization United Association; in 2011, he received the National Level Art Achievement First Prize by the China Cultural Management Association and the First Lifetime Achievement Award for Traditional Chinese Literature and Art by the China Traditional Culture Exchange Association; in 2012, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Chinese Artist Association and the Best Creation Award for the First Excellent Achievements in Cultural and Artistic Innovation by the China Art Role Model Review Committee.
      From 2012 to 2015, he was invited by the China International Postage Stamp Network for four consecutive years, and his works were used to produce thematic stamps and published in commemorative stamp albums; in 2016, his works were selected into the "Sino-US Friendship 37th Anniversary - Sino-US Outstanding Chinese Artists Stamp Commemorative Album" and published and distributed by the American Stamp Group; in 2017, he was selected into the "Belt and Road - Chinese Art Masters World Stamp Figures", and published and distributed by the United Nations World Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation and the American Stamp Group with stamps and commemorative albums featuring his portrait and works of different countries; that same year, his works were selected into the China Postal Service's "Never Forget the Original Aspiration - Welcome to the 19th National Congress" themed stamps and commemorative albums; in 2018, his works were published by the American Stamp Group in the "World Rare Stamp Commemorative Collection" - Chinese Art Masters on World Stamps, and by the China Post Promotion Center in the "Belt and Road Dream" themed stamp album and the "New Era New Silk Road" commemorative stamp album.
