Sun Zhongbiao, male, courtesy name Derun, was born in 1978 in Jinghai District, Tianjin. He is currently a council member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the China Artists Association (HK), a member of the Tianjin Jinghai District Artists Association, a National First-Class Artist, an outstanding photographer of China Professional Photography Network, one of China's Top 100 Calligraphers and Painters, an international art researcher at the China International Research Center for Chinese Painting, and a senior academician of the World Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association. In 2022, he was honored as a Meritorious Artist for the Winter Olympic Games Art Ambassador.
Mr. Sun Zhongbiao has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood, pursuing this art with unwavering dedication. For many years, he has studied and meticulously copied the complete collection of "Jieziyuan Painting Manual" and masterpieces by ancient and modern artists. Later, he received professional training and guidance from distinguished masters. During his studies, he learned flower-and-bird painting under the tutelage of Mr. Zhao Encai, chairman of the Jinghai District Artists Association in Tianjin, thus embarking on his artistic journey. Subsequently, he became a disciple of renowned flower-and-bird painting masters Mr. Wang Fuen and Mr. Wang Yongli, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the study of calligraphy and painting to this day. Drawing on the strengths of various schools, refining the essence, and boldly innovating, he has developed his own distinctive artistic style. He has repeatedly won awards in international calligraphy and painting exhibitions and competitions, standing out with outstanding achievements. Throughout his artistic career, he has worked diligently, made silent contributions, and selflessly devoted himself to promoting the essence of traditional Chinese culture, remaining true to his original aspirations and keeping his mission in mind. He upholds the spirit of patriotism and spreads positive, excellent traditional culture. He always regards his artworks as the foundation of his being and considers moral integrity and artistic excellence as the cornerstone of his character and career. He cultivates virtue, sets an example, dares to take responsibility, and contributes to the prosperity and development of socialist fine arts.
