Personal Profile
Li Yating, also known as Xin Hua, was born in 1976 in Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. She is currently a council member of the China Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Masters Network, a senior class student of Youlan Hall, a contracted painter at the China Artists Exhibition Hall, and vice president of the Youlan Hall Art Committee. She is also a member of the China Calligraphy and Painting Education Society and vice president of the Shaanxi Peony Painting Art Research Institute.
Since September 2020, she has studied orchid painting under Master Han Zhengmin, director of the China Artists Exhibition Hall, founder of Youlan Hall, renowned painter, and master of orchid painting, and achieved the remarkable feat of advancing directly from the beginner class to the intermediate and then to the advanced class in succession.
Li Yating has loved painting since childhood. Inspired and guided by Teacher He Hualong, director of the Shaanxi Double Support Calligraphy and Painting Academy, she was admitted to the Fine Arts program at Xianyang Normal University. After graduation, she has been engaged in middle school art education, specializing in freehand-style flower-and-bird painting with a focus on plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum. Later, she further studied orchid painting under Master Han Zhengmin of Youlan Hall and plum painting under Master Yan Shi, a specialist in plum painting. Over the years, through diligent study and continuous exploration, she has developed her own unique style, earning widespread appreciation and demonstrating high artistic taste.
Her works have won awards in numerous national, provincial, municipal, and county-level calligraphy and painting exhibitions: Her ink painting "Cold Fragrance" was awarded third prize in the Professional Category of the 2020 National Art Education and Related Discipline Teaching Achievements Exhibition; "Drunk in Spring" received an Excellent Award in the "2nd China National Ink Painting and Calligraphy Competition" in 2018; her freehand-style orchid painting was honored with a certificate of recognition in the "Guarding Childhood" — China Calligraphy and Painting Artists’ Care for Left-Behind Children — initiative...
Not because no one is around does it cease to emit fragrance; not because of cold and clarity does it wither. Ten years to paint bamboo, a hundred years to paint orchids. On her future artistic journey, she will continue to strive forward with unwavering determination!
