Yu Wenliang Pingdu Painter
Vice Chairman of the China Calligraphy and Painting Masters Association
Yu Wenliang, originally from Pingdu, Shandong Province, was born in 1962 and currently resides in Tongzhou, Beijing. He is a professional painter. He is currently a member of the Beijing Artists Association and Vice Chairman of the China Calligraphy and Painting Masters Association. He has received education in Chinese Language and Literature as well as Chinese Painting.
Graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, East China Normal University, in 1984;
Worked as an editor and reporter at the Pingdu City Radio and Television News Center in 1984;
Enrolled in the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1991, studying under Zhang Ping;
In 1996, his work "Evening by the Sea" was selected for the "National Exhibition of New Works by Young and Middle-aged Artists" hosted by the China Artists Association;
In 1998, his work "Fishing Village" won the Outstanding Award at the "Contemporary International Ink Art Exchange Exhibition" held in Singapore;
In 2000, his work "Early Spring in Jiaodong" was selected for the "Exhibition of Artistic Achievements of Contemporary Young and Middle-aged Painters" organized by the Ministry of Culture;
In 2003, his work "The Quiet Flow of the Jiaolai River" was selected for the "Beijing Fragrant Hills Red Leaf Festival Chinese Painting Exhibition" hosted by the Beijing Artists Association;
In 2003, completed the Assistant Teacher Advanced Studies Master's Course Program at the Chinese Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, studying under Huo Chunyang and Yang Peizhang;
In 2004, appointed Vice Chairman of the China Calligraphy and Painting Masters Association (civil society organization);
In 2006, entered the Elite Class of Jia Youfu's Studio at the China National Academy of Painting (formerly the China Painting Research Institute), studying Chinese landscape painting under Master Jia Youfu;
In 2008, "Yu Wenliang Special Issue" was published by "Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting," with the title inscribed by Shen Peng, Chairman of the China Calligraphers Association;
In 2012, his work "Site of the Dazeshan Landmine Warfare" won the "Tai Shan Art Award" (the highest government award for art in Shandong Province).
