Kang Youping

        Kang Youping, a young calligrapher and painter, styled Mingxuan, with the studio name Moyun Studio, self-proclaimed as Master of Moyun Studio and Recluse of Longquan. Born in 1978 in Licheng, Jinan, he inherited family traditions in art from childhood and became deeply devoted to calligraphy and painting. He began his study of calligraphy with the Cao Quan Stele and drew inspiration in painting from masters such as Qingteng and Bada Shanren. His works are rooted in tradition yet infused with innovation; he paints and writes through all seasons, simply for personal joy. He has studied at professional art institutions, and his works have been frequently exhibited in competitions and received recognition.

    He is currently a member of the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, a member of the Shandong Provincial Society of Painting and Calligraphy, and a specially appointed senior calligraphy instructor at the Jinan Xuejing Education Group.
