Personal Profile
 Shi Chuan, born in 1958 in Zhuanghe City, Dalian, Liaoning, China, is a contemporary Chinese painter. In 1987, he graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts and subsequently enrolled in a two-year advanced study program in Chinese painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Shi Chuan specializes in figures and animals, while also excelling in flowers, birds, landscapes, and seascapes. His works pursue innovation, exude grandeur and spiritual depth, and are characterized by rigorous technique. He enjoys international acclaim and is honored with the titles "Divine Tiger" and "Extraordinary Lion." He is one of the most prominent realist painters to emerge in the Chinese art scene in recent years. Currently, he serves as an animal painter at the Shaanxi Institute of Chinese Painting, a National Senior Art Master, a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a standing director of the Shaanxi International Liaison Association, a visiting professor at the Institute of Chinese Cultural Arts, Xi'an Foreign Studies University, and vice president of the Shengshi Western Art Institute of Shaanxi.
        His artistic biography has been included in the Dictionary of Famous Chinese Artists, the Encyclopedia of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters (Millennium Collector’s Edition), and the Biographical Directory of World Chinese Literary and Artistic Figures. He has published several collections, including The Special Collection of Shi Chuan, Selected Works of Shi Chuan, and Complete Works of Shi Chuan.
        In 2000, his work was selected for the Cross-Century Chinese Art Achievements Preferred Collection, jointly published by the China Artists Association, the Editorial Committee of the Comprehensive Collection of Chinese Art, and Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House.
        In 2001, his painting "Childlike Heart" won the Silver Award at the Great Monument National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. During the 2000 International Year of Environment, his painting "The Wild Mountains Are Calling" won the Gold Award at the UNESCO-sponsored "We Have Only One Earth" Millennium Painting Competition. His works have been widely published in major domestic and international newspapers and magazines. Numerous art critics have reviewed his works in publications such as the People's Daily, the PLA Daily, Dongbei Zhi Chuang, Guohua Jia, PLA Life, Northwest Aviation, Northwest Information Daily, and Xi’an Evening News. His artworks have been exhibited in Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, the United States, and other countries. Leaders and prominent social figures from over 30 countries and regions have collected his works, which are frequently presented as official state gifts to foreign heads of state and friends.
