Personal Profile
Jiang Dunsheng, born in October 1953 in Kuanbian County, Liaoning Province, has loved art since childhood. In 1972, he was admitted to Jixi Normal School (now Heilongjiang Institute of Technology), where he studied under the renowned artist Master Mou Cheng. He graduated in July 1973 and remained at the school as a fine arts teacher. In 1979, he transferred to the municipal education department, where he worked in administrative roles for 34 years. He retired in October 2013 and resumed painting, dedicating himself to the study, research, and creation of Chinese ink painting, particularly excelling in expressive figure painting and northeastern snow landscape painting. Many of his works have been exhibited, awarded, published, or collected domestically and internationally. He is currently Vice President of the Northeastern China Snow Painting Art Research Institute; Member of the China Arts and Crafts Artists Association; Member of the Heilongjiang Provincial Artists Association; Honorary President of the Jixi City Primary and Secondary School Teachers' Calligraphy and Painting Research Association; and a painter at the Jixi Academy of Painting. Representative works include "Outstanding Life," "Military Soul," "Bountiful Harvest," and "Prayer for Blessings."
