Zhang Baosheng was born in 1952 in Jinzhou, Liaoning, and graduated from Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently a Senior Master Artisan of the State, a Liaoning Province Master of Arts and Crafts, a member of the China Arts and Crafts Association, a member of the China Industrial Ceramics Association, Vice President of the Liaoning Ceramic Industry Association, Standing Director of the Liaoning Arts and Crafts Association, President of the Jinzhou Arts and Crafts Association, and a visiting professor at Liaoning Light Industry Vocational College.
Since the 1970s, he has been engaged in the design and creation of arts and crafts products on the front line of production, having worked in jade carving, embroidery, wood carving, colored clay sculpture, ceramic sculpture, and traditional Chinese painting. He has served as chief editor for dozens of art design books, art textbooks, comic books, and illustrated editions of classic literature for numerous domestic publishing houses.
His designed arts and crafts products have been exported overseas, and his series of colored clay sculptures, jade carvings, embroidery, and traditional Chinese paintings have been collected by many domestic and international enthusiasts. His works have won awards in exhibitions at national, provincial, and municipal levels.
In 1997, he was included in the "Who's Who in Contemporary Chinese Art World."
