Personal Profile

He Qing, born in 1971, is from Zunyi, Guizhou. From childhood, he possessed an extraordinary talent for calligraphy, learning entirely through personal intuition without any formal teacher or official title. At age nine, he won the first prize in the youth category of the original Zunyi Regional Calligraphy Competition, after which he never participated in any further competitions or joined any associations. At 19, he abandoned his studies to join the military; in 1994, he was discharged and began working; at age 24, he authored a handwritten penmanship workbook for personal collection. Later, he entered business and has since balanced commerce with literature. He frequently inscribes names and donates calligraphy works for schools and real estate developments; in 2006, he penned the title for a painting album by a painter in Lingnan. His works are often highly praised by experts in the field.
