Guo Gaoyou, male, Miao ethnicity, childhood name "Xiaoqin", style name "Mo Ren", art names "Mo Ren of Qianzhong", "Kumo", "Suan Han Wei", alias "He Dong Shu Nu", was born in 1979 in Puding, Guizhou Province, graduated from the Sichuan Southwest Hard-Pen Calligraphy School, and completed the second session of the Chinese Calligraphers Association's Copying and Creation Research Class in Xinchang, Zhejiang Province. His right five fingers are completely disabled, making movement difficult; yet regardless of the cold or heat throughout the years, he has remained devoted to his old passion, regarding book collection as wealth and loving characters without poverty. He has long relied on calligraphy for livelihood, yet it has never been sufficient to fill his stomach or satisfy his hunger. He forgets himself entirely; even when family and friends bluntly criticize him, he still keeps company with books and finds joy in them. He is renowned for his regular script, which follows the style of Liu Gongquan; he also practices seal carving and occasionally paints.
