 Han Mingshan (original name: Han Fusheng), styled Yuyang Shouweng. A native of Yangqu County, Shanxi Province, with a university education, a retired cadre, and an avid lover of painting and calligraphy since childhood. Currently a member of the Shanxi Provincial Association of Elderly Painters and Calligraphers, a council member of the Taiyuan Municipal Association of Elderly Painters and Calligraphers, a member of the Shanxi Provincial Association of Folk Artists, an academician of the Chinese Buddhist Painting and Calligraphy Academy, an academician of the Fu Shan Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Deputy Director-General of the Liu Bingsen Painting and Calligraphy Academy Taiyuan Branch, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiyuan Enterprise Union Painting and Calligraphy Academy. In the late 1960s, he had the fortune to become a disciple of Professor Yang Xiuzhen, a direct pupil of the renowned bird-and-flower painter Master Bai Shi. His paintings of fish, shrimp, crabs, peonies, plum blossoms, chrysanthemums, chicks, and insects received careful guidance and high praise from Professor Yang. His calligraphy is primarily based on Han dynasty clerical script, which he has practiced for decades by copying various Han steles. His paintings and calligraphy works have been exhibited numerous times at provincial, municipal, and county-level exhibitions and are collected by multiple organizations and individuals.
