       Zhang Zhaodong. Master of Yangxin Studio. Originally named Zhang Lanzhong, also known as Zhang Lanzhong, born in 1959. Shanxi Houma native. Renowned painter and calligrapher. He once received guidance from the famous calligrapher Qi Gong and the renowned painter Wang Xue Tao, greatly improving his calligraphy and painting skills. He is especially skilled in ink-and-wash depictions of shrimp in the style of Mr. Qi Baishi. Through years of dedicated research and constant experimentation, he has integrated his personal style into the traditional depiction of shrimp. The shrimp painted by Mr. Zhang Zhaodong are translucent, varied in form, accurately structured, with brushwork that skillfully balances light and dark tones—soft yet firm, lifelike and vivid. He faithfully carries forward the shrimp-painting tradition of Master Qi Baishi, earning high praise from professionals in the art world. Mr. Zhang Zhaodong deeply admires Qi Baishi and constantly studies and reflects upon his shrimp paintings. In his own words: "I have long been spiritually connected with Master Qi Baishi; I often dream of him." Today, Mr. Zhang Zhaodong's shrimp paintings have garnered widespread acclaim across society and have attracted serious attention from gallery owners in Beijing and Shanghai, many of whom have signed contracts to pre-order his works.
