Yue Peizhang, a National First-Class Calligrapher and renowned calligrapher, was born in 1956 in Wanrong County, Shanxi. He serves as Vice President of the Painting and Calligraphy Academy of the China Society for Life Science Education, a committee member of the Art Committee of the China Association for Cultural Arts Research, a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a Academician and Special Professor of the Hong Kong Longxiang Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, and Vice President of the Sanjin Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
Having inherited family traditions since childhood, he practiced calligraphy by studying famous steles and rubbings, drawing inspiration from Tang and Jin dynasties, reaching back to Qin and Han, and extending to Ming and Qing, selectively absorbing the essence of various styles. He particularly modeled his work after the steles of Wang Xizhi, Yan Zhenqing, Cai Xiang, and Dong Qichang. For decades, he has steadfastly remained at his inkstone, tirelessly practicing until he achieved a comprehensive mastery of diverse calligraphic styles, ultimately developing a personal style characterized by strength and vigor, elegance and freedom, fluidity and grace, with lofty spirit and ancient charm. His calligraphy works have won over fifty gold, silver, and bronze awards in internationally and nationally influential exhibitions. Numerous pieces have been collected by museums and governmental institutions both domestically and abroad. His works and artistic biography have been included in more than twenty major collections, including "Collection of Works by China’s Most Powerful Contemporary Painting and Calligraphy Artists," "Collection of Masterpieces by Chinese Calligraphy Masters," "World Renowned Figures in Painting and Calligraphy Art," and "National Invitational Exhibition of Calligraphy by Prominent Middle-aged and Young Artists."
