Kong Fangzhou

Kong Fanzhou, born in 1961 in Henan Province, is a contemporary renowned painter and calligrapher, a third-generation direct disciple of Qi Baishi and a传承人 of Qi School ink technique. He is currently a specially appointed consultant at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, honorary consultant of the Qi Baishi Art Research Institute, deputy director of the Qi Baishi Fine Arts Memorial Hall, and vice president of the China National Painting Art Research Institute. In 2005, he was honored with the title of "One of the Hundred Outstanding Chinese Painters and Calligraphers," and is a first-class national artist. He is also a contracted artist for Beijing Education Television’s programs “Ink and Wash Colors” and “Master Lectures.”
